Why is it $649.99 through virgin but like $200 through verizon.
I have had Verizon for years, and wanted the iphone but their data pacakge prices are ungodly so when I found out you guys would have the iphone i got excited but I can't afford almost a 700 dollar phone.

on iPhone 4s
On Verzion, you notice you have to buy a $200 contract, plus the almost $150 for basic data packages before taxes (which makes it over $200 a month.) That's why they make the phones so cheap. I've noticed that the only people with Verizon iPhones are those who work on family plans, which still comes out to be expensive but it's a better deal for the whole family. This is more targeted towards single users, so they need to make the upfront fee quite high, but in reality you end up saving over $1000 a year from data packaging, given that you have unlimited. Hope this helped (:
Because you have a 2 year contract through Verizon paying at least $80 a month.
If you calculate your total cost over two years you'd save over $1000 with Virgin Mobile!

because the plans r so cheap that in a two year contract with verizon u will end up paying 2 3 thousand dollars but virgin mobile is expensive with the phones but not the plans but verizon is cheap with phones but expensive with plans
veizon is on a contract were the phone is a lower because of a contarct thats why when you dont pay your bill for time they will add the full phone prise to. whith virgin mobile your pay the full prise for the phone but the bill is 2 times cheaper.over time you will save money
The actually price of an iPhone 4S is $699, but the carrier gives you basically a $500 discount for signing a contract. That is why it is important to get protection for your phone whether it is through Geek Squad or Apple Care Plus or that Zagg protection. You only get your discounted price of the phone when you sign the contract and so on after then. Another catch: you're stuck in that, more or less, $100 per month for 24 months. Wanna get out of it? Just pay a $350 declining early termination fee and get out of it or just pay still the last day (or when it just gets cheap enough to weigh the early termination against sticking through). I sell 14 carriers as by mobile job, so I know all major cell phone plans out there. Honestly Virgin Mobile is just a steal with the iPhone! $30 a month and plus I see a lot of customers in my store and they don't get coverage for their phone so they wind up just having to pay the early termination fee or just pay the outright price for a phone (really... people do pay $699 for an iPhone after paying the initial $200 so get protection for your phone that is glass on the front and the back, seriously though...).
The reason is that with another carrier, like Verizon, lowers the price with a 2 year contract as you pay for the rest of the phone over the course of your contract. You can buy one without the contract, but you will be paying full price for the phone. Virgin has no contract and their rates are low, meaning they have no way of getting their money back. Also, since there is no contract, if you decide to go to a different carrier, Virgin losses a whole bunch of money. That is why you must pay full price for the phone.
It cost so much because your paying close to the retail price without a contract. If someone was to buy the same phone from verizon without the 2 year deal, it would cost about the same price. Virgin Mobile's monthly plans are half the price of what a contract plan cost, your saving money as the months go on, you just have have to folk up a lot in the beginning. The price on this phone will drop soon as Iphone 5 comes out in September.
i dont think data is unlimited they cap at 2.5 gb and transfers speeds plummet after that. Just saying, but great deal nonetheless.
No Contract thats why
The reason for the phone being so expensive is that its a prepaid phone and when you buy with others you have a contract but not with virgin mobile.
Beacuse virgin mobiles phone is a no contract . All the others are 2 year contracts and junk so you pay less but really its more in the long run . Go virgin mobile!
Look at verizons monthly plan. more than 100 dollars. look at virgin mobiles monthly plan. 30-40- or 50 dollars. 50 dollars is UNLIMITED. i'd rather spend only 600 dollars with virgin mobile for a year. (thats the unlimited) than more than 1200 for a year. (not even unlimited)
This is because Verizon charges a lot more per month than Virgin Mobile. Even with the price Virgin Mobile offers for the iPhone you still save money.
Because Virgin Mobile does not place any contract against you. The $200 phones that ATT provides, for example, is only available through contract, which includes penalty fees, etc.
you have to Remember this is a prepaid phone when your stuck in a two year contract the phone is cheaper because you are in a contract that you have to pay for plus your bill would be like 80 bucks or more but virgin mobile has brought to us the iphone with no contract and you can get unlimited everything for as little as 55 bucks a month thats a deal plus if u bought the phone from verison with no contract it would cost the same amount of money and you would still be paying above 80 bucks for your bill =)
When you sign for a two year contract the carrier subsidizes the full price of your phone and you in turn commit to them for giving you a break on the price of the phone whereas when you go no contract you are fully responsible for all the costs thereby you are no locked in a contract.

You pay the price one time and think how much you'll save on your plan for however long you have the phone. It makes sense.
VERIZON - CONTRACT
VIRGIN - NO CONTRACT
(THAT'S JUST THE REGULAR PRICE FOR THE PHONE )
Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T subsidize the phone. The are actually selling to you for less than what they paid for it
Can you trade in a virgin mobile phone for this one. I have the virgin mobile lg v android phone and it is in vvrry good condition
Because when you buy from verizon. They make you sign a contract, to get the phone for cheaper. With virgin mobile there are no contracts, therefore you have to pay the full price of the phone.
Think about it you pay 200 dollars threw Verizon and stuck on a plan for two years ! you'll be paying the phone triple then what it's worth. but on Virgin Mobile you pay a lower rate, and you have the phone already paid off and WIFI you can do almost anything !! Ha (: It's perfect !
There is also the 8GB iPhone which is $100 less. Could use that extra money for the taxes, fees and the first month charge.

San Bernardino Mtn. Resorts
Virgin Mobile: Phone $688 (tax) $30/ mo over 2 years = $1408
“Contract” Carriers: Phone $199 + $80/ mo 2 year contract + taxes, fees, admin costs and limits on data usage (not UNLIMITED like Virgin): $2119
So in the end its BIG savings. Way to go Virgin
