Virgin Mobile USA phones work strictly within the USA.

Virgin Mobile USA phones use the Sprint Nationwide Network which extends ONLY throughout the 48 U.S contiguous states, Hawaii, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. The VMUSA phones do not roam across other phone networks either. For these reasons the Virgin Mobile USA phones work strictly within the USA and when located outside the USA, will not send/receive calls or messages nor provide web access. There are no options available to use Virgin Mobile USA phones outside the USA.

Apple iPhones and the 4G LTE Android phones have special SIM cards that can only be used on Virgin Mobile phones. The cards contain the phone's ID and you can't move the cards between phones. payLo phones don't use SIM cards at all.

All 4G LTE (non WiMax) phones require a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC).

• What is a UICC card?
A UICC card is the physical smart card that is pre-inserted on your device and allows for LTE network authentication/ access. It's a new generation SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card. No customer-specific information-like contacts, address book, or account information, photos, or personal data- is stored on this card.

Yes, all the payLo phones are compatible with the Assurance Wireless plans. You can buy Virgin Mobile USA phones on this website, elsewhere online, or at a local store. It doesn't matter where you buy the phone as long as it is one of the payLo phones mentioned. The current Beyond Talk phones will not work with Assurance Wireless plans.

The payLo phones are good, basic phones with some features that sight-impaired customers may find useful.

The Samsung Montage features Voice Service.
Voice Service is advanced speech recognition software that recognizes your spoken commands to dial phone numbers, create messages, and launch phone features such as Contacts, Calendar and My Photos+Videos.

But it can't read back text messages or convert voice to text messages. You'll need a smartphone and a Beyond Talk plan for those functions.

The Kyocera Kona can work with any payLo plan ($20, $30, and $40 per month) and Assurance Wireless plan. The Beyond Talk plans ($35, $45, and $55) are not available on the Kyocera Kona.

Yes, you can keep your old number. But you need to get a phone from Virgin Mobile USA.

No. Virgin Mobile USA phones without 4G LTE(i.e. 3G phones) don't use SIM cards. Apple iPhones and the 4G LTE Android phones have special SIM cards that can only be used on Virgin Mobile phones. Virgin Mobile doesn't sell SIM cards.
