Question
Can apps be downloaded to SD card?

answer 1
No. You can't move apps to the SD card because this phone is running the 4.1 os A.K.A. Jellybean. Android stopped allowing apps to be stored on the external memory after ICS because of a security exploit. Supposedly they are bringing back modified storage permissions in the kitkat os but as far as this phones goes... NO.

those answers are right and wrong. this phone runs on android 4.1 jellybean. any phone with jellybean or higher does not currently support app-sd card. ICS must support it because i have the evo v running android 4.0 and i have all of my apps on my sd card. so your answer is no, apps cannot be moved to sd card.

Respectfully, Dylan, you are misinformed. Android 4.0+ devices do support installing apps to the SD card. It is up to the discretion of the developer, along with various Android SDK variables and limitations, to allow their apps to be moved to the SD card. In most cases, most app data will be moved to the SD card, unless Android's limitations require it to be installed on the phone to function. (This is most likely true with apps that have, or rely primarily on, widgets.)

To answer the question, the apps are able to be installed on the SD card on an app by app basis, dependent on whether or not the developer has allowed it to do so.

The phone I have runs off of Android 4.0 and I can move just about every app to my SD card. Of course there are certain ones which you can't yet they are small. You may not be able to download them directly to the card but can move them easily.

No, Android removed the ability to do that in 4.0 It's stupid, but the way it is. Don't know if there is a way around it with rooting.

Question
How much internal memory available for applications does this phone come with?
I heard that the Android OS no longer allows apps to be downloaded to the SD card starting with Android 4.0. Is this true and if it is, then Android phones are going to need a lot more internal memory. How much memory does this phone have?

you CAN move stuff to the sd card, just not like you used to be able to. You have to move items with FILE MANAGER now ... people need to stop saying you can't move apps and data to the sd card just because they are ignorant and don't know how to.

Well here is the deal. I bought this phone and cannot move ANY apps to the sd card. I had to get rid of all my music. So if there are apps out there that you can actually move( as claimed) I would love to know which ones. I have basic apps. If I would have known this before I would have never gotten this phone.

Hello Steve,

The information you have heard is incorrect. Android 4.0 (as well as future versions of Android) still allows apps to be installed (or moved) to the SD Card, provided the developer has enabled this feature. Due to the way Android is written, and Android SDK's limitations, some apps are not able to function when stored on external storage (SD Card). This is especially true for apps with widgets, and widgets themselves. There are a vast majority of apps that will store the majority of their data on the SD Card.

This phone comes with 4GB of ROM memory as per the Virgin Mobile Website. This is a raw hardware number, user storage is limited to about 1.2GB.
It also comes with 1GB RAM memory.

Yes you will lose your $25 dollar plan . I did a swap hand set On LG Optimus F3™ 4G LTE and The web page told me that I needed to change my Plan and so I selected the 35 dollar plan as it is close to my old plan . The LTE is worth the price as my Old LG Optimus V was having may Problems with memory running out and all slow speeds ( 3G) . I now went from 10% and less memery to 53% memery with a 1GIG storage . All in All not bad for $10 more .

answer 1
Yes, the LG Optimus F3 can now create a mobile hotspot with the hotspot option. Virgin Mobile occasionally changes their phones, devices and plans.

► You need the following to create a Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11):

       1. One of the Beyond Talk plans ($35, $45, or $55 per month)
       2. The $15 per month OR $5 per day Hotspot option in your Virgin Mobile account
       3. One of these Beyond Talk phones:
(uses 3G network only) Apple iPhone 4s, Kyocera Event
(uses 4G LTE and 3G networks) HTC Desire, Kyocera Hydro Vibe, LG Optimus F3, LG Volt, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy SIII,
                                                                      Samsung Galaxy Victory

Log into your account. [MANAGE MY ACCOUNT at the top of this page.] On the Account Overview tab click on 'Change My Plan'. From there you can
see the plans and options that are available for your phone.

answer 3
There are third party apps that allow any android to be used as a mobile hotspot, such as FoxFi. Using third party apps to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot allows you to circumvent monthly "hotspot plans" that other carriers charge.

Edit: I have no affiliation and am not paid in any way by FoxFi Software.
