Yes it can. There are two ports on the bottom edge of the device. One on either side of the micro USB port. They are neatly covered by sliding covers. They are easy to use, cover well and cannot be lost. Finding a correct antenna might be a little hard thou.

Maybe, but not here. You need a Mac or Windows PC to set up your Broadband2Go account and configure an Overdrive Pro. Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive Pro you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device such as your Android phone.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - Overdrive Pro
• Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.4 & Higher G4/G5
• Windows* Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
• Your Mac or Windows PC must be Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n enabled to connect to the Overdrive Pro OR have an available USB port.

Requirements for a USB Tethered Connection
Your device supports a direct connection through a USB cable to a Windows or Mac computer. (This is commonly referred to as a “tethered” connection.)
See page 26 in the Overdrive Pro user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/phones/prepaid/manual/OD-Pro-user-guide.pdf

Your Virgin Mobile account is setup using a browser window. The Overdrive Pro is also configured using a browser window. The Overdrive's device drivers will be downloaded to your Mac or Windows PC from the Overdrive. You must use a Mac or Windows PC to setup your Virgin Mobile account and configure the Overdrive.

Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device.

Sorry for my previous statement where I said the Older 3G devices will not be able to use the new plans seems to have been wrong. According to an online chat with a virgin mobile rep it was stated that my Older Mifi will still be able to receive the new plans even tho it is still just 3G. I hope this information helps a little in the correction of that. With the Unlimited you will see speed drops at 265 kb/s or lower though after you hit the cap for 2GB or 5GB on those two new plans.

As far as the customer service rep told me that yes, you can still have unlimited but only 4G/3G speeds up to the 2GB or 5GB cap they set for the 2 plans and if you have an old 3G device you are not able to use their new plans with them. I hope this helps. We don't have 4G in our area but we can still use the 4G device to get these new plans. Another side tip is we are on the $50 unlimited plan here with 3G up to 2.5GB and then it is throttled back after that and I asked how long after do I have to renew my $50 plan before I lose it for good, they told me 3 Months so if you don't renew as soon as your plan expires you will not have to worry for 3 Months then. That was very helpful to know. I didn't want my plan to go away if I didn't renew before my plan expired. ;)

I used to have a Clear overdrive pro so it is the same device as well as actually the same exact service ( Clear provides the 4G WiMax for Sprint and actually if I'm not mistaken Sprint is heavily invested in Clear and as such either owns them or pretty much does .....at least a large part of them ) .....but anyway I used to have a Clear Overdrive Pro and in the nearby city where there was 4G .....I have actually clocked up to 17 Meg's before.......usually it is about 5 Meg's down and about 1 and a half up though.

Virgin Mobile answered your question in the FAQs:

What are the data speeds of Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go 3G/4G devices?
Operating on the Sprint 4G (WiMAX) Network, the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go Overdrive ProTM 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot and the U600 3G/4G USB Sticks average speeds ranging between 3 - 6 mbps as compared to 600 kbps - 1.4 mbps on the 3G Nationwide Sprint Network - that's up to 10 times faster!* The Sprint 4G Network reaches over 70 markets in the US.

*Based on download speed comparison of Sprint 3G avg. speeds (600 kbps - 1.4 mbps) vs. Sprint 4G avg. speeds (3 - 6 mbps). Actual speeds may vary based upon plan or other factors. These Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go devices operate on the Sprint 4G WiMAX Network.

Unless you have a smart TV that is Wi-Fi enabled. I forgot that some new televisions are equipped with Wi-Fi now. You'll still need to meet the system requirements for setting up your Virgin Mobile account and configuring the Overdrive.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - Overdrive Pro
• Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.4 & Higher G4/G5
• Windows* Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
