►CONNECTIVITY AND COMPATIBILITY
Your video and game systems need a Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n or USB port just to CONNECT to the Overdrive Pro. You need a Mac or Windows PC that meets the following System Requirements to START your Virgin Mobile account and CONFIGURE the Overdrive Pro. Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device.

System Requirements - Overdrive Pro
• Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.4 & Higher G4/G5
• Windows* Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
• Your Mac or Windows PC must be Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n enabled to connect to the Overdrive Pro OR have an available USB port.

Requirements for a USB Tethered Connection
Your device supports a direct connection through a USB cable to a Windows or Mac computer. (This is commonly referred to as a “tethered” connection.)
See page 26 in the Overdrive Pro user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/phones/prepaid/manual/OD-Pro-user-guide.pdf

Your Virgin Mobile account is setup using a browser window. The Overdrive Pro is also configured using a browser window. The Overdrive's device drivers will be downloaded to your Mac or Windows PC from the Overdrive. You must use a Mac or Windows PC to setup your Virgin Mobile account and configure the Overdrive.

Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device.

►PLANS - PRICES, DATA, AND LIMITS
There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.
   • Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)
operating in 4G mode. ►Data access will continue after you receive 10GB of data but 4G speeds will be reduced to about 2Mbps. ◄

The $5 Daily plan will get you Unlimited data for 24 hours when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device such as the U600 or Overdrive Pro operating at
4G speeds. Your speeds may drop to about 2Mbps when 500MB of data is reached but data access will continue for the rest of your 24 hours.

   • When your 4G/3G device (U600 or Overdrive Pro) is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $5/day plan provides 200MB of data at 3G speeds during your day.

► DATA SPEEDS OF BROADBAND2GO 3G/4G DEVICES
Operating on the Sprint 4G (WiMAX) Network, the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go Overdrive Pro™ 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot and the U600 3G/4G USB Sticks average speeds ranging between 3 – 6 mbps as compared to 600 kbps – 1.4 mbps on the 3G Nationwide Sprint Network – that’s up to 10 times faster!* The Sprint 4G Network reaches over 70 markets in the US.
*Based on download speed comparison of Sprint 3G avg. speeds (600 kbps – 1.4 mbps) vs. Sprint 4G avg. speeds (3 – 6 mbps). Actual speeds may vary based upon plan or other factors. These Virgin Mobile’s Broadband2Go devices operate on the Sprint 4G WiMAX Network.

Probably, yes. But I would call Broadband2Go Support. Click 'SUPPORT' at the top of this page to find the Broadband2Go phone number.

Note that 4G data speeds are only available on the Overdrive Pro if you operate it in an area covered by 4G WiMAX and have one of the current Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, or $5 per day.

• Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)
operating in 4G mode. Data access will continue after you receive 10GB of data but 4G speeds will be reduced to about 2Mbps.

4G speeds. Your speeds may drop to about 2Mbps when 500MB of data is reached but data access will continue for the rest of your 24 hours.

• When you have a 3G device OR your 4G/3G device is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $5/day plan provides 200MB of data at 3G speeds during your day.
   - There currently is no unlimited plan for 3G-only devices such as the Ovation MC760 or MiFi 2200.

How much data is 5GB?

According to Virgin Mobile, 1MB of data is equal to around 100 web pages, but sizes vary. So, 5 gigabytes is about 500,000,000 web pages.
http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3257

What you download will determine how long your data will last. Images/Pictures, audio, and video on web pages use more data than text. For comparison, a standard DVD can hold 4.77 GB of data. Your 5GB limit applies to all inbound and outbound data.

Many VOiP providers work at about 80 kbs up to 128 kbs so let's say 100 kbs ( all measurements in bits are in groups of 1,024 ) ....At that rate it is 36 Meg's an hour ......1024 Meg's are in 1 Gig ....and 1024 divided by 36 equals 28.4444 hours per 1 Gig ...... Times 5 hours equals talking for 142.22222 hours a month or 8,533 minutes and 20 seconds per month. VOiP phone or VOICE uses almost nothing in all reality. As far as data goes what uses up the most data is " Downloading Movies and songs " ( Streaming movies actually uses WAY LESS than downloading them, in SD I measure about 100 minutes equals 100 Mb and in HD about 100 minutes is about 350 MB .....however downloading a movie is about 800 Mb and sometimes over an entire 1 Meg up to 1.2 Meg's ) .....most data is due to " computer program and app updates , Movies, Video, picture etc .......Voice and text use nearly nothing.

NEW! The Overdrive Pro and the U600 USB Stick are both now Windows 8 and Mac OS 10.8x** compatible.

The Broadband2Go software is compatible with Windows (7, XP, Vista and 8**) and Mac OS (10.5x, 10.6x, 10.7x and 10.8x**). You'll also need administrative rights on your computer to install the software and drivers.

To attach the device to your computer, you'll need an available USB port.

**NOTE: The software on the U600 device does not support Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8. A software download from the Virgin Mobile website is required. Do not follow the installation instructions provided with the device. Download the U600 User Guide and follow the installation instructions in the User Guide for Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8.

Depending on the plan that you choose, your device, and your data speed (4G or 3G), your data access will stop when you've reached your data limit. When using a 4G/3G device in 4G mode, after you receive 10GB of data at 4G speeds your data speed will be reduced to about 2Mbps.

There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.
• Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)

Sorry, Broadband2Go plans and the Broadband2Go Overdrive Pro work strictly within the USA.

Broadband2Go devices use the Sprint Nationwide Network which only extends throughout the US, Hawaii, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. The Virgin Mobile USA Broadband2Go devices do not roam across other networks either. For these reasons Broadband2Go devices cannot provide web access when located outside the USA. There is no option to make Broadband2Go work outside the USA.
