Question
$35 plan vs $55 plan on 4G Data
For the 4G Data plans, both the $35/month plan and $55/month plan indicate "unlimited data". So is there a difference between the two plans if you have 4G service?

You're right. No difference. The trick is to operate your 4G/3G Overdrive in 4G mode. It can automatically switch to 3G speeds without your knowledge.

Question
What type of coverage do I need?
I live in an area where only data and voice are available (no 3g or 4g). So does this create 3g/4g or do I need that coverage for it to work?

You need 3G or 4G coverage in your area for the Overdrive Pro.

• Check your COVERAGE on the top line of this webpage.
          OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3164/kw/coverage

Be sure to select your coverage interest such as 4G WiMAX or data coverage(3G) in the boxes above the map.

'Coverage is not available everywhere and varies based on a number of factors. Our coverage maps provide high level estimates of our coverage areas when using your device outdoors under optimal conditions. Coverage isn't available everywhere. Estimating wireless coverage and signal strength is not an exact science. There are gaps in coverage within our estimated coverage areas that, along with other factors both within and beyond our control (network problems, software, signal strength, your wireless device, structures, buildings, weather, geography, topography, etc.), will result in dropped and blocked connections, slower data speeds, or otherwise impact the quality of services...'

► Before buying any 4G/3G Broadband2Go device you should check COVERAGE in your area on the top line of this webpage.
            OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5679

Be sure to select 4G WiMAX or data coverage(3G) on the tool.

Question
On the 3G / 4G overdrive pro 5GB of 3G data and unlimited 4G plan what happens when you go over your 3G data?
I live in a 3G area however I can drive to a nearby 4G WiMax area but since most use would be at home this is an important question. Do they throttle you down to 2G speed ? Do they cut you off from 3G ? Do they charge extra?

There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.
• Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)
operating in 4G mode. Data access will continue after you receive 10GB of data but 4G speeds will be reduced to about 2Mbps.

The $5 Daily plan will get you Unlimited data for 24 hours when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device such as the U600 or Overdrive Pro operating at
4G speeds. Your speeds may drop to about 2Mbps when 500MB of data is reached but data access will continue for the rest of your 24 hours.

• When you have a 3G device OR your 4G/3G device is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $5/day plan provides 200MB of data at 3G speeds during your day.
   - There currently is no unlimited plan for 3G-only devices such as the Ovation MC760 or MiFi 2200.

Your 3G access will stop when you've reached your allotment. Since you cannot exceed your 3G allotment there is no way for Virgin Mobile to charge you.

The overdrive pro has a battery much like a cell phone. You can have it unplugged ( I believe for about 9 or 10 hours ) but it can also be plugged in.

The Overdrive Pro comes with a wall charger to recharge the battery. It also comes with a USB cable to connect to your computer. Connecting via USB cable is optional. Usually, you'll use Wi-Fi to connect your computer to the Overdrive.
