Yes, if your iPad is equipped for Square and you can connect your iPad to the Overdrive.

Your computer only needs a Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n or USB port to CONNECT to the Overdrive Pro.To START your Virgin Mobile account and CONFIGURE the Overdrive Pro you need a Mac or Windows PC that meets the following System Requirements. Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device or via USB cable.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - Overdrive Pro
• Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.4 & Higher G4/G5
• Windows* Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
• Your Mac or Windows PC must be Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n enabled to connect to the Overdrive Pro OR have an available USB port.

Requirements for a USB Tethered Connection
Your device supports a direct connection through a USB cable to a Windows or Mac computer. (This is commonly referred to as a “tethered” connection.)
See page 26 in the Overdrive Pro user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/phones/prepaid/manual/OD-Pro-user-guide.pdf

Your Virgin Mobile account is setup using a browser window. The Overdrive Pro is also configured using a browser window. The Overdrive's device drivers will be downloaded to your Mac or Windows PC from the Overdrive. You must use a Mac or Windows PC to setup your Virgin Mobile account and configure the Overdrive.

Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device or via USB port.

There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.
• Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)
operating in 4G mode. Data access will continue after you receive 10GB of data but 4G speeds will be reduced to about 2Mbps.

• When you have a 3G device OR your 4G device is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.

The data access lasts 1 month. The excess expires and does not rollover to the next month.

Text messages are not available on Broadband2Go. The Broadband2Go plans with a Broadband2Go device provides a mobile, wireless internet connection for laptops, notebooks, desktops or other computing devices.

The payLo phones and Beyond Talk phones are the only way to view text messages. Virgin Mobile doesn't provide an online portal to text messages.

Sorry, Broadband2Go plans and devices work strictly within the USA.

Broadband2Go devices use the Sprint Nationwide Network which only extends throughout the US, Hawaii, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. The Virgin Mobile USA Broadband2Go devices do not roam across other networks either. For these reasons Broadband2Go devices cannot provide web access when located outside the USA. There is no option to make Broadband2Go work outside the USA.

Question
What is overdrive pro 3G/4G? How does it enhance service?
My sister is disabled shut-in, in North Berwick, Maine. Cable a luxury she cannot afford. My hubby & I are VM customers & I hope to help improve Sis's quality of life, by connecting her to outside world.

Using Broadband2go:
1.) Assuming $35 Monthly Plan:
A.) About how many hours of the 10mb speed does a person get, each.
month, if they are watching Netflix with 3G and/or 4G?
B.) About how many hours of 10mb internet 'surfing' time would she get
monthly?
2.) Assuming $55 Monthly Plan:
Answer the same two questions, please.

** My goal is to identify the most economical way ('Plan' & 'Hardware') to connect a very *technologically challenged* individual to the internet/outside world, for a few hours throughout the day.

*Thank you & Blessings,

►Determine 4G WiMAX Availability
Before buying any 4G WiMAX Broadband2Go device you should check COVERAGE in your area on the top line of this webpage.
            OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5679

Be sure to select 4G WiMAX or data coverage(3G) on the tool.

Note that the 3G handoff experience with 4G/3G WiMAX devices is not always consistent. That means the device may not automatically resume 4G speeds causing data to be counted at 3G speeds.

Internal tests have shown that Sprint 4G LTE typically provides a faster and more consistent 3G handoff experience when compared to 4G WiMAX.
http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5776

► Speeds of 4G/3G WiMAX Devices
• Virgin Mobile answered your question in the FAQs:
Data speeds of Virgin Mobile’s Broadband2Go 3G/4G devices
Operating on the Sprint 4G (WiMAX) Network, the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go Overdrive Pro™ 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot and the U600 3G/4G USB Sticks average speeds ranging between 3 – 6 mbps as compared to 600 kbps – 1.4 mbps on the 3G Nationwide Sprint Network – that’s up to 10 times faster!* The Sprint 4G Network reaches over 70 markets in the US.
*Based on download speed comparison of Sprint 3G avg. speeds (600 kbps – 1.4 mbps) vs. Sprint 4G avg. speeds (3 – 6 mbps). Actual speeds may vary based upon plan or other factors. These Virgin Mobile’s Broadband2Go devices operate on the Sprint 4G WiMAX Network.

Important: Before buying any 4G device you should check 4G COVERAGE in your area on the top line of this webpage.
OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5679

Be sure to select your coverage interest such as 4G, data coverage(3G), or voice coverage.

• You need one of the Broadband2Go plans and a Broadband2Go device that is compatible with your computing device. See the System Requirements for each Broadband2Go device to determine compatibility.

► There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.

► The 2GB and 5GB are a measure of data and don't correspond to time. What you download will determine how long your data will last. Images/Pictures, audio, and video on web pages use more data than text. For comparison, a standard DVD can hold 4.77 GB of data.
