Questions & Answers for Samsung Mantra

Question
Xtc or Mantra?
Which one?

answer 1
The X-tc has had some signal issues and the screen sometimes freezes or lags when sliding the phone open the mantra is actually easier to text on and more durable with alot longer battery life. Granted the X-tc has an mp3 player and better camera the mantra is durable and longer lasting so I would have to say the Mantra is the better of the two that I've owned.

i have the shuttle, very good phone. really sturdy.. i've had it for about 9 months now. really great phone.

i still have the wildcard, but it's not sturday, or dependable. within the first month that i had it, the hinges on the open/close part became very loose. the camera is rather amazing though.

i gave my friend my slash, it was a pretty good phone. the fact that it was a samsung made it known to me it was dependable. i had that phone for 4 or 5 months. then got the shuttle.

i haven't had the mantra though.

hope this helped! :)

answer 8
The Shuttle is a very nice phone, and so is the Mantra. If you're just trying to talk, and use a basic text program. I would go with the Mantra cause its long battery life. But then the Shuttle has a lot of features. So its a personal preference.

BEWARE! The "Samsung M340 listed on the VM website as of 7/24/11 is NOT the same phone as the Samsung Mantra SPH-m340 (which is currently out of stock at VM and not advertised on the website). The Mantra is a legacy phone, still available in some retail stores (check out Radio Shack, Best Buy, Target, 7-11) and online. The Mantra DOES work with both the PayLo and Beyond Talk plans. The Samsung M340 only works with the PayLo plan. Apparently, phones added to VM's lineup after Sprint acquired VM in May, 2010 do NOT work with both phone plans.

I don't think so. It doesn't have a usb cable or an sd card. So I figure the only way to get pics to your comp is by emailing them to yourself.

answer 2
I have had several virgin mobile phones over the years. Someone stated that the reception was all the same. NOT true. I was very disappointed in the Slash, could not use it inside stores or had weak service in a lot of areas although I loved the look of the phone. This phone the Mantra has great service!! I can talk in the middle of the mall or wal-mart. I am very pleased with this phone. Even though it is inexpensive it is probably about the best phone I have had from virgin mobile as far as reception goes, easy to text on, nice display I would recommend this phone in a minute. I have also owned the k10 royal, slider,
snapper, wild card, flare, marple, vox and the slash. This one is my favorite

I consider Samsung of high quality when it comes to the Point/Shoot Camera Arena.
Compared to the LG's Rumor2 1.3MP Camera which I also have...
Samsung Mantra's 0.3MP images looks more clearer as opposed to LG Rumor2 being hazy.
The Mantra does hase have a zoom in/out feature only if the setting is to Low resolution.

It's been great so far. I'm so glad I went with a flip phone after my previous ones that would butt-dial at worst or turn on the display every time a button got hit even if the keypad was locked out since I keep the phone in my pocket and not in a belt case.

I've had this phone for nearly a year now and I must say this phone compared to the last phones I had from a company that ends with a 10(horrible phones) is exceptionally great!!! After all this time I'm just now starting to see a drop in battery life which is going down quickly, but I've gotten 2 weeks in-between charges which is about as good as I've ever had including the old sanyo 8300 that I had several years ago that also had terrific batt. life. If you're thinking 'bout buying this phone for anything other than very heavy texting I'd say buy it it's a great phone!!!

answer 3
I don't talk much, maybe 40 minutes average a month. I have been using this phone for over two months. So far its idle and talk combined time between charges (until one bar or completely drained) is nearly 10 days! I usually charge it to full, with the phone off, every week or so.
