► What are the data speeds of Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go 3G/4G devices?

Operating on the Sprint 4G LTE Network, the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go Netgear Mingle Mobile Hotspot's average speeds range between 6 - 8 mbps for downloads and 2 - 3 mbps on average for uploads.

Operating on the Sprint 4G WiMAX Network, the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go Overdrive Pro Mobile Hotspot and the U600 USB Stick's average speeds range between 3 - 6 mbps.
Actual speeds may vary based upon plan or other factors. These Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go devices operate on the Sprint 4G WiMAX Network.

All data services are not available everywhere nor in every market. The Sprint 4G LTE network is being expanded.
► Before buying any 4G/3G Broadband2Go device you should check COVERAGE in your area on the top line of this webpage.
            OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5679

Be sure to select 4G WiMAX, 4G LTE, or data coverage(3G) on the tool. The current Broadband2Go 4G/3G devices, U600 and Overdrive Pro, use the Sprint 3G
and 4G WiMAX data networks. The Netgear Mingle uses the 3G and 4G LTE data networks.

I hope you bought the Netgear Mingle. The U600 doesn't have 4G LTE. There is a typo on the page. (Virgin Mobile is better at phones, devices and plans than they are at web pages.☺) The typo describes the Mingle.

"3G/4G LTE Network
A dual-mode 3G / 4G LTE device, Mingle lets you surf and download quickly. Enjoy fast 4G LTE speeds where available while on the nationwide Sprint® 4G LTE Network."

Actually Dan, I just read on the webpage on this site for the U600 and it specifically says that the U600 DOES have 3G/4G LTE. Its a dual mode modem card. Had i known this then i wouldnt have asked the question. The answer i was looking for was found in the 'features/specs' tab of the U600 on here. Since that modem card is for BB2Go then theres no reason it wouldnt handle 4G LTE.

You're out of luck at the moment. 4G LTE is not available for Broadband2Go at this time. The Overdrive Pro and U600 devices are also not capable of 4G LTE and cannot be upgraded.

I can't get it to work on my Windows 8 computer. I downloaded the updated software from this website.Running the program, it states the the modem driver is installed, but it hangs up shortly after that, stating that the modem cannot be found.
Apparently, the driver is wrong or isn't being installed correctly.

NEW! The Overdrive Pro and the U600 USB Stick are both now Windows 8 compatible.

The Broadband2Go software is compatible with Windows (7, XP, Vista and 8**) and Mac OS (10.5x, 10.6x, 10.7x and 10.8x**). You'll also need administrative rights on your computer to install the software and drivers.

To attach the device to your computer, you'll need an available USB port.

**NOTE: The software on the U600 device does not support Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8. A software download from the Virgin Mobile website is required. Do not follow the installation instructions provided with the device. Download the U600 User Guide and follow the installation instructions in the User Guide for Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8.
