You need one of the Broadband2Go plans and a Broadband2Go device that is compatible with your computing device. See the System Requirements for each Broadband2Go device to determine compatibility.

You didn't give enough info. Your Mac must be Wi-Fi-enabled to use the BB2G MiFi 2200.

1.You'll need a PC or Mac to install and administer your BB2G account.

Compatible Operating Systems for Broadband2Go
The Broadband2Go software is compatible with Windows XP Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.4 and higher. You'll need an available USB port to plug the device into your computer. And you'll also need administrative rights to install the software and drivers. Sorry not with Linux at this time.

2. Access the web on your device that is WiFi-enabled.
--- Use the MiFi 2200 to connect up to 5 WiFi-enabled devices.
What types of wireless devices can I connect to my MiFi 2200?
The MiFi device can work with any Wi-Fi enabled device - laptops, desktops, cameras, music players, personal media players, and portable game consoles just to name a few. You can connect up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices to your MiFi at the same time.

Note: Wi-Fi enabled devices must be 802.11b or 802.11g to connect to the MiFi device.

Question
does virgin mobile broadband still have a plan cheaper than 35 or tey still have the 10 or 20 a month?
i dont dont really need the internet but i recently pucharsed the ipad wifi only and a ps vita wifi only too and i dont really use them outside a wifi area (my house or work) so i would be happy if they still have a limited plan or something that is not monthly or something that they could charge you by use

Virgin Mobile answered your question in the FAQs tab:

If I'm currently on a Virgin Mobile BroadBand2Go $10/$20/$50 plan, will I be able to keep my plan?

Yes. If you bought a $10/$20/$50 plan before 7/4/12, you will be able to keep your plan at this time, unless you switch to another plan or until the plan is discontinued. However, if you are on one of these plans, you will not be able to enjoy 4G speeds, even if you have purchased a 3G/4G device.

Question
Is Sprint's Sierra Overdrive Pro 3G/4G compatible with Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go service?
Since the device model is the same, and both are connected through Sprint's 3G and 4G networks, it would seem feasible that both conpanies' Sierra hotspot devices would work.

Sorry, no. Broadband2Go devices use the Sprint Nationwide Network which only extends throughout the US, Hawaii, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. The VMUSA BB2G devices do not roam across other networks either. For these reasons Broadband2Go devices cannot provide web access when located outside the USA.

Sorry, Virgin Mobile USA's network only extends throughout the US. Virgin Mobile customers have access to the Sprint Nationwide Network, reaching more than 278 million people. Coverage is not available everywhere; domestic coverage includes the 48 U.S contiguous states, HI, DC, PR, and US VI. Our service is only available in geographic areas covered by the digital service network footprint of the Nationwide Sprint Network.
