Questions & Answers for Broadband2Go

Question
Mifi 2200
Does this device allow you to tether to a device that requires an Ethernet connection? For instance I have a device that is portable an has no wifi capabilities yet and needs a hard wire plug in to the modem. Can I tether from this device (Mifi 2200) to my other device with no wifi? If this can not be done with the 2200 which mobile hotspot device has this capability?

No. The MiFi 2200 can only connect to other devices via Wi-Fi. Ethernet is not available. Virgin Mobile doesn't have a device that can connect to your computer via Ethernet. Do you have a USB port? The Netgear Mingle can connect to one computer via USB.

See the MiFi 2200 user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/mifi_usermanual.pdf

Yes. You'll need the Netgear Mingle. The Mingle uses the Sprint wireless network to connect to the internet. And it connects to your tablet via Wi-Fi or USB cable.

Unlike your cell phone plan, buying a plan every month is not required. You can buy a Broadband2Go plan whenever you need mobile wireless internet access.

You'll need to change your choice of Broadband2Go plans if you need a different duration. The $55 and $25 plans last 1 month or until your data is depleted. The $5 plan lasts 1 day or until your data is depleted. You can change your plan inside your Broadband2Go account by clicking on MANAGE MY ACCOUNT at the top of this page.

Video and audio use lots of data. Either of the month-long plans would probably suit your needs. You can buy another plan if you run out of data before the end of your month.

There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $25 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.

   - The $25/month plan provides 1.5GB  of data at 3G and 4G LTE or 4G WiMAX (depending on your device) speeds during your month*.
   - The $55/month plan provides  6GB    of data at 3G and 4G LTE or 4G WiMAX (depending on your device) speeds during your month*.
   - The $5/day plan provides      250MB of data at 3G and 4G LTE or 4G WiMAX (depending on your device) speeds for 24 hours*.

*These plans are available for current 4G/3G devices like Overdrive Pro, U600 AND Netgear Mingle devices as well as 3G-only Broadband2Go devices(MiFi
2200, Ovation MC760, and PEEL). 4G WiMAX service only available on the 4G WiMAX/3G devices in areas covered by 4G WiMAX. 4G LTE service only
available on the 4G LTE/3G devices in areas covered by 4G LTE. Data access will stop at the end of your plan period(i.e. 1 month or 1 day) or when your
data limit is reached(i.e. 1.5GB, 6GB, or 250MB). You should experience full data speeds while your plan is in effect or until your data limit is reached; data
speeds will no longer be slowed with the Broadband2Go plans.

That depends on the Virgin Mobile phone model and the Virgin Mobile plan that you chose. Most of the phones for the Unlimited plan can create a Mobile Hotspot. When shopping the phone pages, look for "Daily Mobile Hotspot" on the FEATURES & SPECS tab.

► You need the following to create a Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11):

     1. One of the Unlimited service plans ($35, $45, or $55 per month)
     2. The $5 per day Hotspot option in your Virgin Mobile account
     3. One of these Unlimited services phones:
(uses 3G network only) Apple iPhone 4s, Kyocera Event
(uses 4G LTE and 3G networks) HTC Desire, HTC Desire 816, Kyocera Hydro Vibe, LG Optimus F3, LG Volt, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy SIII,
                                                                 Samsung Galaxy Victory

Log into your account. [MANAGE MY ACCOUNT at the top of this page.] On the Account Overview tab click on 'Change My Plan'. From there you can
see the plans and options that are available for your phone.
