The Broadband2Go plans cover both 4G and 3G services.

- The 3G provisions of the Broadband2Go plans are in effect when using a 3G device, or using a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro) in an area only covered by 3G.

-The 4G provisions of the Broadband2Go plans are in effect when using a using a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro) at 4G speeds.

Question
Could someone explain the data usage to me?
I am extremely confused as to how this works (I don't understand the 10gb of usage). I want to get rid of my internet through Bright House which I am paying $55.75 a month for (which I am not sure but I am guessing is unlimited usage?). I don't want to deal with them anymore (I have been a very long time customer and they have been jerks to say the least) and my other choice in this area would be Dish (which I have also heard bad things about). So I am wondering if the the $55 a month version of this would work for me?

This is our internet usage:
4 hours a day of watching Amazon Prime through our Roku player
8 hours a day of computer usage (school online)
1 hour a day using Vonage phone

I put my address in and it shows that I have fair (light blue) 4G (WiMAX) Data Coverage.

► Before buying any 4G/3G Broadband2Go device you should check COVERAGE in your area on the top line of this webpage.
            OR
Follow the link at this FAQ: http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5679

Be sure to select 4G WiMAX or data coverage(3G) on the tool.

►There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.
• Both the $35 and $55 per month plans will provide Unlimited data for 1 month when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device (U600 or Overdrive Pro)
operating in 4G mode. Data access will continue after you receive 10GB of data but 4G speeds will be reduced to about 2Mbps.

• When you have a 3G device OR your 4G/3G device is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
Note that, depending on the plan that you choose, you will be limited to 2GB or 5GB if your U600 or Overdrive Pro switches to 3G speeds.

► Broadband2Go provides MOBILE wireless internet connection for computing devices like laptops, tablets, phones, game consoles, etc. Although Broadband2Go can replace wired internet connections the plans are very expensive for that purpose. Wired internet connections can provide more data, faster speeds, and stronger uninterrupted connections than Broadband2Go. On the other hand, wired internet connections are not mobile. Also, keep in mind that your wired internet service may provide some services that Broadband2Go doesn't such as a home page, email, anti-virus, and other services.

The payLo Basic Rate plan is the only Pay As You Go plan currently available. Due to the recent plan changes, it is no longer described on the web pages but it is still available.
http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5676

The Basic Rate plan costs $20 every 90 days; that $20 is added to your Virgin Mobile account. Charges for talk, messages, and web access are deducted from your account as you go. Talk for 20¢/minute, 15¢ each text msg, 25¢ each picture msg, and $1.50/mb of web access. Any amount left in your account at the end of 90 days is carried forward to the next period. ►The payLo Basic Rate plan can be used by any payLo phone. ◄

When you start your new payLo phone you'll be prompted to select one of the plans. If you don't see the Basic Rate plan then click on 'Don't see the plan you are looking for? Click here.' The payLo Basic Rate plan will be at the bottom.

There are 3 Broadband2Go plans: $35 per month, $55 per month, and $5 per day.

The $5 Daily plan will get you Unlimited data for 24 hours when you have a 4G/3G Broadband2Go device such as the U600 or Overdrive Pro operating at
4G speeds. Your speeds may drop to about 2Mbps when 500MB of data is reached but data access will continue for the rest of your 24 hours.

• If your 4G/3G device (U600 or Overdrive Pro) is operating at 3G speed then:
   - The $35/month plan provides 2GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $55/month plan provides 5GB of data at 3G speeds during your month.
   - The $5/day plan provides 200MB of data at 3G speeds during your day.

The Broadband2Go plans with a Broadband2Go device provides a mobile, wireless internet connection for laptops, notebooks, desktops or other computing devices. Your iPad/iPod must meet some system requirements for either the Overdrive or U600.

► SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - Overdrive Pro
Your system needs a Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n or USB port just to CONNECT to the Overdrive Pro. To START your Virgin Mobile account and CONFIGURE the
Overdrive Pro you need a Mac or Windows PC that meets the following System Requirements. Once you've created your Virgin Mobile account and
configured your Overdrive Pro you should be able to access the web with any device using Wi-Fi or USB port.

   • Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.4 & Higher G4/G5
   • Windows* Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
   • Your Mac or Windows PC must be Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n enabled to connect to the Overdrive Pro OR have an available USB port.

Requirements for a USB Tethered Connection
Your device supports a direct connection through a USB cable to a Windows or Mac computer. (This is commonly referred to as a “tethered” connection.)
See page 26 in the Overdrive Pro user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/phones/prepaid/manual/OD-Pro-user-guide.pdf

Your Virgin Mobile account is setup using a browser window. The Overdrive Pro is also configured using a browser window. The Overdrive's device
drivers will be downloaded to your Mac or Windows PC from the Overdrive. You must use a Mac or Windows PC to setup your Virgin Mobile account and
   configure the Overdrive.

Once you've created a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Overdrive you should be able to access the web with any Wi-Fi enabled device.

► SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - U600
The U600 should work with any system that meets the following System Requirements. If your system doesn't meet the System Requirements
   then consider the Overdrive Pro.

   • Mac Requirements: Mac OS X, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 only
   • Windows Requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.
   • Your Mac or Windows PC must have a USB port available to connect to the U600 device.

Your Virgin Mobile account is setup using a browser window. The U600 is also configured using a browser window. The U600's device drivers will be
downloaded to your Mac or Windows PC from the U600. You must use a Mac or Windows PC to setup your Virgin Mobile account and configure the U600.
The U600 can only be used by one Mac or Windows PC at a time. The U600 does not create a Wi-Fi hotspot.

See the U600 user manual at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/phones/prepaid/manual/U600-Broadband2Go-User-Guide.pdf

NOTE: The software on the U600 device does not support Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8. A software download from the Virgin Mobile website is required. Do not follow the installation instructions provided with the device. Download the U600 User Guide and follow the installation instructions in the User Guide for Windows 8 or Mac OS 10.8.
