Sorry, there are no text messaging bundles available for new customers. Here is a breakdown of the 6 plans currently available. Choose the one that comes closest to your needs.

Virgin Mobile offers two sets of plans: Beyond Talk and payLo. payLo is Virgin Mobile's value brand, offering monthly and Pay As You Go plans.
There are 3 payLo plans for the payLo phones. payLo is Virgin Mobile's value brand, offering monthly and Pay As You Go plans.

Virgin Mobile offers the 3 Beyond Talk and 3 payLo plans at this time. There are no family plans.

However, using the Virgin Mobile plans, you could set up your family with a phone and plan that is suitable for each member. Mom and Dad could have the $55 unlimited everything from the Beyond Talk plans and a smart phone or Android phone. The kids could each have a payLo phone with an 'allowance' for minutes or messages. $150/month for 2 $55/month Unlimited Minute Beyond Talk plans and 2 $20/month payLo Talk plans. How does that sound? You could even setup Auto Top-Up to automatically pay your plans every month. Prices exclude phones.

Virgin Mobile:
1. Doesn't tie you with a contract. You can leave anytime.
2. Doesn't have surprise fees at the end of the month. You pay for your service at the beginning of every month.
3. Let's you set up multiple phones & plans according to individual needs.
4. Provides service in the USA with the Sprint Network. There is no roaming other cellular networks and therefore never any roaming fees.

All Virgin Mobile USA phones and plans can make international calls. International calls are charged at the international per-minute rate for the country you're calling PLUS your standard airtime rate. The payLo Basic Rate plan will probably be fine. You pay $20 every 90 days to fill your guest's account. The amount for phone calls, text msgs, IM, and web access is deducted from your account. Any remaining balance is rolled forward to the next period at the end of 90 days if you decide to continue service by buying another $20. Virgin Mobile will prompt you to add more $$ to your payLo account when your account runs low and/or it is time to pay for the next 90 day period.

"Unused services included in your plan expire at the end of each monthly period and may not be used in subsequent months", for all Beyond Talk and monthly payLo plans. Unused services include talk minutes, messaging (text messages, email, IM, and picture messages), and web access.

You'll have to pay for your payLo plan at the beginning of your service period no matter which plan you choose.

Sorry, no. The payLo plans require a payLo phone from Virgin Mobile USA. You can buy payLo phones on this website or at local stores which you can find by clicking on Find Store at the top of this page. Phones from other carriers or sources will not work with payLo plans.

I had a hard time finding where you were looking.

After logging into the Account Activity page there is a "Type" column(wish you had mentioned this). There is a Type for each charge to your Account. Voice calls are type VOICE. Text messages are type SMS(Short Message Service). Top-Ups are type TOPUP. XTRAS seems to be a catch-all type for things like web access and downloads, for example.

The Beyond Talk and payLo plans only cover domestic calls and domestic messages.

There are additional charges to MAKE international calls using any Beyond Talk or payLo plan. So, you will need $$ in your Virgin Mobile account before making any international calls. Click 'Top-Up' at the top of this page to use a credit/debit card, PayPal, or Virgin Mobile Top-Up card to put money into your Virgin Mobile account before sending an international call.

International calls are charged at the international per-minute rate for the country you're calling PLUS your standard airtime rate. Scroll down the Beyond Talk or payLo plan page to 'International Rates' then select the country's region in the 'Select A Region' menu for the international per-minute rate.

For all Beyond Talk and payLo plans, inbound and outbound international text messages cost 15¢ each. International picture messages are not available.

International texting is limited. For example, I have a Virgin Mobile USA phone and a Virgin Mobile UK phone. They cannot send a text to each other because VM uses Sprint in USA and T-mobile network in Europe.

To send an international text, enter 011 + the country code + the mobile number. Simple as that. Of course with additional charges.
