How do I change my plan I signed up for yesterday?
I got the PayLo $20 plan yesterday and want to change it to the $30 plan with 1500 minutes of talk/texting. How do I do that?

Can you wait a month? There are some things that you need to know before switching plans. Here is your answer from the Help FAQs at http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com

You can change plans as your needs change as long as your account is active. And you will lose any unused minutes when you switch plans. So it's a good idea to use up all your minutes before you make the switch, according to the Help FAQs. Note that you will not be able to return to any expired plan (no longer offered) if you decide to change plans.

HERE'S HOW
Log into your account. [MANAGE MY ACCOUNT at the top of this page.] On the Account Overview tab click on 'Change My Plan'. From there you can see the plans that are available for your phone and change it, if necessary.

Or click 'SUPPORT' at the top of this page and ask Virgin Mobile's Customer Care.

Virgin Mobile USA phones use the Sprint Nationwide Network which extends ONLY throughout the 48 U.S contiguous states, Hawaii, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. The Virgin Mobile USA phones do not roam across other phone networks.

CURRENT PLANS - ALL MONTHLY
All the current plans are monthly. You must pay the full amount of your plan every month for your calling, messaging, and data services to continue. A partial payment will not extend your month. A partial payment will only add that dollar amount to your Virgin Mobile account.

There are 6 plans available from Virgin Mobile. All plans from Virgin Mobile include Caller ID, Call Waiting, 3-Way Conference Calling(most phones), Call Forwarding(most phones), and Voicemail. Pick the plan and phone that comes closest to your needs.

payLo is Virgin Mobile's value brand. There are 3 payLo plans for the payLo phones. All the payLo monthly plans will only work with the payLo phones. None of the payLo phones are smartphones.

BASIC RATE PLAN - EXPIRED
EXPIRED BASIC RATE PLAN
► Virgin Mobile's offer for the Basic Rate plan, also known as Pay As You Go, expired as of Jun. 24, 2013. The Basic Rate plan is no longer available to new customers nor to current customers wishing to switch plans. The Basic Rate plan used to cost $20 every 90 days. If you are fortunate enough to still own a Pay As You Go plan, a partial payment was available for the Basic Rate plan and other expired Pay As You Go plans. You can see details at:

Current customers with the Basic Rate plan active in an account will be grandfathered and can keep the plan until the plan is discontinued as long as they don't change plans or let their accounts expire. If a current customer with an active Basic Rate plan changes to a monthly plan($20, $30, or $40 per month) the Basic Rate plan will no longer be available to them.

Sorry, all the Beyond Talk AND payLo plans are month-to-month. Near the end of your month you should get a Virgin Alert reminder that it's time to Top-Up. You can use a Virgin Mobile Top-Up card, credit/debit card, or a PayPal account to pay for your next month of service. Select MY ACCOUNT on your phone or click TOP-UP at the top of this web page to start the process.

If you are worried about missing your payment date you can pay up to one month in advance.

Sorry, unlocked phones and phones from other carriers will not work with Beyond Talk plans. The Beyond Talk plans are only available when setting up a Beyond Talk phone from Virgin Mobile USA. You must use a phone from Virgin Mobile USA for service.

That's right. The $20 buys you 400 minutes. You need to add more money to your Virgin Mobile account BEFORE you can send or receive text messages with this plan.

Text messages cost 15¢ each. Picture messages cost 25¢ each. Charges for text messages come out of your Virgin Mobile account. To see or add to the balance in your Virgin Mobile account on your phone select MY ACCOUNT on the menu. You can also click TOP-UP at the top of this web page. Use a Virgin Mobile Top-Up card(s), credit/debit card, or PayPal account to add money to your Virgin Mobile account before you send/receive text messages.

Yes. All the current Virgin Mobile plans last a month. You can pay for his entire month or just add money to buy additional minutes to his Virgin Mobile account if he runs out of minutes before the end of his month.

PAY FOR FULL MONTH
You need to know which payLo plan ($20, $30, or $40 per month) your grandson has so that you can pay for his monthly plan.

ADDITIONAL MINUTES ARE 10¢ EACH
Additional minutes for the monthly plans are 10¢ each if your grandson you runs out of minutes before the end of his month. Charges for additional minutes come out of his Virgin Mobile account.

HOW-TO
Click TOP-UP at the top of this web page. Fill in your grandson's phone number. Then use a credit/debit card to add money to his account. If you want to cash or check, then you can buy Virgin Mobile Top-Up cards at retail stores and elsewhere online.

That depends which plan you choose. Your old payLo Basic Rate plan is no longer available to new users or if you decide to switch plans.

All plans from Virgin Mobile include Caller ID, Call Waiting, 3-Way Conference Calling(most phones), Call Forwarding(most phones), and Voicemail.

PayLo vs Pay-as-You-go plan incompatibility
I just purchased a Kyocera KONA at this web site to replace my older Kyocera MARBL, as the KONA was advertised as being available and the plans were compatible. Now, I find out I cannot register the KONA on my old, Pay-as-You-go plan. $20 every 3 months on my current PAYG plan is much more than I need or can use, and I have no desire or need to change to a $20/month PayLo plan.
What are my options?

Click 'Support' at the top of this page and ask Virgin Mobile's Customer Care via phone or email how to return the Kona. Don't wait because you only have14 days to do this. http://www.virginmobileusa.com/14-day-guarantee You can dial *86 on your Virgin Mobile phone, too. You can also click LIVE CHAT on the left side of this web page, if available.

The Kyocera S2100 was the last phone for legacy plans such as your Pay-as-You-go plan. The S2100 is now discontinued on this website but may be available elsewhere online or in retail stores. Click 'Find a Store' at the top of this page for nearby stores that sell phones and give them a call. You can also ask Virgin Mobile's Customer Care if any other payLo phones will work with your Pay-as-You-go plan. The last alternative is to give up your Pay-as-You-go plan and choose a different payLo plan. If you take this last alternative you won't be able to ever recover your Pay-as-You-go plan.
