The payLo plans require a payLo phone from Virgin Mobile USA. Phones from other carriers or sources are not compatible with Virgin Mobile and will not work with payLo service.

You can buy payLo phones on this website or at local stores which you can find by clicking on Find Store at the top of this page.

All Virgin Mobile USA phones, Beyond Talk & payLo, only use the nationwide Sprint Network. Virgin Mobile USA phones do not roam across other cell phone networks therefore there are never any roaming charges.

How do you count the minutes being used. By the second?
If a call lasts 5minuted 24 seconds. How does that count?

Calls are billed in one-minute increments, with a minimum time per call of one minute. Call times are rounded up to the nearest whole minute. Calls are limited to two hours. If you are on a call for longer than two hours, the call will automatically terminate.

Sounds like the payLo Basic Rate is right for you. For use with payLo phones only.

Top-Up with $20 every 90 days to fill your account. The amount for phone calls, text msgs, IM, data is deducted from your account. Any remaining balance is rolled forward at the end of 90 days if you decide to continue service by buying another $20. If your account runs low then Virgin Mobile will prompt you to add more.

What you pay --------- What you get ---------------------------------------------
$20 every 90 days.....20¢/minute talk...........15¢ each text msg........... 25¢ each picture msg.... $1.50/mb of web access

"Unused services included in your plan expire at the end of each monthly period and may not be used in subsequent months", for all monthly payLo and Beyond Talk plans. If you choose the $30/month payLo plan any unused talk minutes, unused messages, and unused web access megabytes will expire at the end of 30 days. The only thing that will roll forward will be any money in your account.

The Top-Up cards transfer money to your payLo or Beyond Talk account. The cards are not specific to VM services or products. So, you can use a $35 Top-Up card to pay your monthly $30/month payLo account. The extra $5 can be used to buy other services or products like international calls, ringtones, wallpapers, etc that aren't included in your plan.

No, there are no roaming fees on Virgin Mobile USA because the phones use the Sprint Network and they do not roam across other phone networks. Roaming happens when a phone loses a signal on its cellular network and uses the signal from a competitor's network.

You can restrict internet access in several ways. You can buy a plan with limited or no internet access, completely disable internet access, or use parental controls in the phone.

Sorry, the Virgin Mobile payLo plans are not available when setting up the Apple iPhones from Virgin Mobile. Only the Beyond Talk plans are available when setting up the Apple iPhones from Virgin Mobile.
