Can I still add minutes to this phone if purchased for someone in another state?
My Mom is in a nursing home and is unable to call long distance from her room. She is in WV and I am in CA I want to know if I purchase this phone have it sent to me and set it up and then send it to her can I add minutes to it from CA and how does that work? Its so she can call me. Also does it cost extra to call long distance?

Sounds like a workable plan to me.

If you set up the phone in CA with your postal zip code it will get a CA phone number with a CA area code according to this FAQ.

You should be able to pay the monthly amount from CA. You'll have all the information you need when you setup the phone. There are no long distance fees on cell phones.

All the payLo phones except the Montage and Entro are compatible with your plan. The discontinued LG Rumor2 Beyond Talk phone will also work with your plan.

I would like to change my paylo plan to another virgin mobile plan with more variety of phones. But can i keep the number that I have right now?

Yes. You may end up buying a new phone and losing any money in your account. According to the Terms and Conditions:

• Virgin Mobile and payLo accounts are maintained separately. If you switch between a Virgin Mobile service plan and a payLo service plan, your Virgin Mobile or payLo account (as applicable) may be closed and you may be given a new Virgin Mobile or payLo account (as applicable).

• you may switch current service plans, including between Virgin Mobile and payLo. When you switch service plans, you will not receive a refund of any portion of any previously paid service charges and you will lose all of your remaining unused minutes, messages, and data allotment.

• Some service plans are available only on certain phones.

Sorry, phones from other carriers will not work with Beyond Talk plans. Virgin Mobile doesn't carry the Evo 3D, so you're going to need a new phone. The payLo plans, which is where this message is posted, are not available on the smartphones. You'll need one of the payLo phones if you want a payLo plan.

Since you asked about 2.5GB of data, it sounds like you want a Beyond Talk plan. You're going to need one of the Beyond Talk smartphones. See the current smartphones at: http://www.virginmobileusa.com/cell-phone-plans/beyond-talk-plans/overview/#overview

All the Beyond Talk plans ($35, $45, $55 per month) provide unlimited data during your month of service. Data access will continue but speeds
will be reduced to 256Kbps after reaching 2.5GB of data or 3.5GB of data with the $15/month Hotspot option. Full speed will resume after paying
for your next monthly plan. Once again, your data speed is reduced after 2.5GB but you'll still get an unlimited data access during the month on
your Beyond Talk plan.

Also, the Beyond Talk plans provide unlimited Messages (text messages, instant messages, email, picture messages) during the month on your Beyond Talk plan.

►You can easily change to another Beyond Talk plan but not as easily to a payLo plan. There are some things that you need to know before switching plans. Here is your answer from the Help FAQs at http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com

You can change plans as your needs change as long as your account is active. And you will lose any unused minutes when you switch plans. So it's a good idea to use up all your minutes before you make the switch, according to the Help FAQs. Note that you will not be able to return to any expired plan (no longer offered) if you decide to change plans.

Sorry, there are no family plans here. It is not possible to add another line to any account nor share minutes. Each phone has its own account. When you buy another phone it will have its own account. It is not possible to share or transfer minutes between accounts.

I was told I can only have one phone on my existing plan. Am considering another phone in my household, do I have to purchase another plan? Can I put both phones on one plan?

You can have several phones on the $20/month plan. However, each will have its own account. Each account is identified by its phone number. There are no family plans here. It is not possible to add another line to any account nor share minutes. Each phone has its own account. When you buy another phone it will have its own account.

Can an Iphone be used on paylo $0.20 per minute plan?
Can I get my son an iphone to use on his per minute plan? I pay $20 every 90 days, unless he needs more. I don't want to buy a phone that can't be used on that plan because he doesn't use his phone that much.

Sorry, iPhones from other carriers won't work with Virgin Mobile payLo plans nor Beyond Talk plans. The Virgin Mobile payLo plans are not available when setting up the Apple iPhones from Virgin Mobile. Only the Beyond Talk plans are available when setting up the Apple iPhones from Virgin Mobile.

Depends which plan and phone you choose and where you are sending the picture. Your friend's phone & plan must be capable of receiving a picture message, too.

• Picture messages are part of the messages on all the Beyond Talk plans, the $40/month payLo plan, and $30/month payLo plan. You'll need money in your Virgin Mobile account in order to send/receive picture messages with either the $20/month plan or the Basic Rate plan; picture messages cost 25¢ each with either of these plans.

• The LG 101 phone does not have a camera. It is not capable of sending nor receiving pictures messages. Although the new Samsung Entro doesn't have a camera it can send and receive picture messages, depending on your plan. All the other payLo and Beyond Talk phones can send/receive picture messages, depending on your plan.

• You can only send and receive picture messages in the United States. International picture messages are not available.

None of the monthly payLo plans ($20, $30, and $40 per month) have rollover minutes. Minutes don't rollover with the Beyond Talk plans either. 'Unused monthly services, including, but not limited to, plan minutes, messages or data allotments, expire at the end of each month or when a customer switches service plans and do not carry forward.' Use them or lose them.

The Basic Rate plan, the only Pay As You Go plan currently available, costs $20 every 90 days; that $20 is added to your phone account. Charges for talk, messages, and web access are deducted from your account as you go.Talk for 20¢/minute, 15¢ each text msg, 25¢ each picture msg, and $1.50/mb of web access. ►Any amount left in your account at the end of 90 days is carried forward to the next period.◄ The payLo Basic Rate plan can be used by any payLo phone.

When you start your new payLo phone you'll be prompted to select one of the plans. If you don't see the Basic Rate plan then click on 'Don't see the plan you are looking for? Click here.' The payLo Basic Rate plan will be at the bottom.
