Call blocking is not available on Virgin Mobile. But the caller's phone number will appear on-screen while the phone is ringing. Their name will appear on-screen if their phone number is in the Contact List on your phone.

• Another VM customer offered this tip, 'I found a way to block numbers. Go to the VM website and download a ringtone that is nothing but silence. There are several of them.

Create a contact for the number you want to block and create a group called 'blocked' or something similar. Assign the contact to the blocked group and use the silent ringtone for the group. When you get a call from another number you want to block it's easy to save the number to a new contact and assign to the blocked group!'

Virgin Mobile occasionally changes their phones, devices, plans, and prices.

Virgin Mobile's offer for the Basic Rate plan, also known as Pay As You Go, expired as of Jun. 24, 2013. The Basic Rate plan is no longer available to new customers nor to current customers wishing to switch plans.

Current customers with the Basic Rate plan active in an account will be grandfathered and can keep the plan until the plan is discontinued as long as they don't change plans or let their accounts expire. If a current customer with an active Basic Rate plan changes plan to a monthly plan($20, $30, or $40 per month) the Basic Rate plan will no longer be available to them.

Some of the payLo plans include 50MB or 30MB of web access. After consuming that data, additional data is $1.50 per megabyte that expires after 24 hours. Data on the $20 per month plan is always $1.50 per megabyte that expires after 24 hours.

payLo is Virgin Mobile's value brand. There are 3 payLo plans for the payLo phones. All the payLo monthly plans will only work with the payLo phones.

message transcribing
I'm hearing impaired and will mostly text and check messages on the phone. Other than that it'll be used for emergencies. Reading messages is better than guessing... Is there incoming call message transcription offered free with these plans?

You should click 'Contact Us' at the bottom of this page and ask Virgin Mobile's Customer Care. Virgin is a low cost phone provider and no transcription service is described on this website.

The payLo phones are good, basic phones. Most have a keyboard for texting.

All payLo phones have these features that may be helpful:
- Hearing aid and TTY compatible.
- Bluetooth to pair with Bluetooth hands-free headsets (except LG 101).
- Jack for a corded headset.
- External Volume control switch on side of phone.
- Text, email, and IM messaging capability as an alternative for use in a noisy environment.
- Built-in speakerphone.
- Vibration alerts for calls and messages.

Drawbacks:
- None offer padding around the earpiece to keep out background noise. The clam-shell style of the Kyocera S2100 may offer the best fit to the ear.

The Kyocera S2300 is the only payLo phone that can be used with a Beyond Talk plan.

No. The payLo plans can only be used Virgin Mobile's payLo phones or VM's LG Rumor2.

Sorry, it is not possible to add another line to any account. Each phone has its own account. When you buy another phone it will have its own account.

Scroll down the payLo plan page to 'International Rates' then select the country's region in the 'Select A Region' menu for the international per-minute rate.

The payLo plans only cover domestic calls and domestic messages. There are additional charges to make international calls using any payLo plan(no additional charge to receive an international call). International calls are charged at the international per-minute rate for the country you're calling PLUS your standard airtime rate.

You will need $$ in your Virgin Mobile account before making any international calls. Click 'Top-Up' at the top of this page to use a credit/debit card, PayPal, or Virgin Mobile Top-Up card to put money into your Virgin Mobile account before sending an international call.

For all payLo plans, inbound and outbound international text messages cost 15¢ each. International picture messages are not available.

Sorry, there is no 'text only' plan.

The closest match for you would be either the $35/month Beyond Talk plan or the payLo $40/month. Both plans have unlimited text messaging and the lowest amount of minutes and web access.

- $35/month Beyond Talk plan has 300 minutes talk, PLUS unlimited messaging, and web access. You'll need a Beyond Talk phone, too.
