Virgin Mobile USA phones will not send/receive calls or messages in Canada nor any other country because Virgin Mobile USA uses the Sprint Nationwide Network which only extends throughout the US. Also, the VMUSA phones do not roam across other phone networks.

No. The LG Optimus V is a Beyond Talk phone. All of the Beyond Talk phones are only compatible with the Beyond Talk plans.

Virgin Mobile keeps it all very simple. So, only 1 phone is allowed per payLo account. But you can have several accounts each with their own phone.

Talk, messages, and web access are counted separately. With the payLo Talk and Text plan for $30/month you get 1500 minutes talk, 1500 messages(text, email, IM, picture), and 30mb of web access.

What happened to the old plans?
There used to be plans where I paid by the minute as I used them. The original plan that made VM so famous was 25 cents a minute for the first ten minutes and then 10 cents a minute after that. Then later there was another plan that got me 10 cent minutes as needed or when I had a virgin mobile not even 3 years ago I paid $2 a day on days I used it and nothing on days I did not use it. None of these plans show. These plans are what made VM Special. The first one got the approval of the frugal guy on the radio. Said he even purchased phones for his kids for emergency purposes.

Virgin Mobile occasionally changes their plans. Virgin Mobile offers the Beyond Talk and payLo plans at this time. Expired plans are not available to new users. You'll find several expired plans described in the Terms of Service.

There are currently 6 plans available from Virgin Mobile.

payLo is Virgin Mobile's value brand. There are 3 payLo plans for the payLo phones. All the payLo monthly plans will only work with the payLo phones.

You should be able to easily change from an Assurance Wireless plan to a payLo plan but there are some things that you need to know before switching plans. Here is your answer from the Help FAQs at http://virginmobileusa.custhelp.com

You can change plans as your needs change as long as your account is active. And you will lose any unused minutes when you switch plans. So it's a good idea to use up all your minutes before you make the switch, according to the Help FAQs. Note that you will not be able to return to any expired plan (no longer offered) if you decide to change plans.

HERE'S HOW
Log into your account. [MANAGE MY ACCOUNT at the top of this page.] On the Account Overview tab click on 'Change My Plan'. From there you can see the plans that are available for your phone and change it, if necessary.

For the most accurate answer click 'Support' at the top of this page and ask Virgin Mobile's Customer Care via phone or email. You can dial *86 on your Virgin Mobile phone, too. You can also click LIVE CHAT on the left side of this web page, if available.
