Not really - there are only a very small number of apps available for this phone, which uses an operating system called Brew MP. For marketplaces with plenty of apps to download, look at the LG Optimus V and Samsung Intercept (both Android phones) or the Blackberry.

Yes. It doesn't have a full keyboard on the touch screen, instead you can use predictive text entry (T9) on a 12-key keypad on the touch screen. You can also use pen input where you write characters on the touch screen with a stylus (don't use a pen).

Question
Where do you put the battery at on the LG Rumor Touch?

Like almost all models of phones, you slide off the back cover to install the battery.

To install the battery you must first remove the back cover, which can be tricky. Here's how I do it:
0) wash & dry hands (greasy skin will slip).
1) turn over phone so the camera lens is facing me
2) hold the phone in my right hand and put my right thumb firmly in the middle of the back cover
3) put my left middle finger on the top of the phone (on the phone's front edge, not touching the back cover)
4) put my left thumb on the bottom edge of the back cover, just underneath the triangle/arrow symbol
5) push upwards with both thumbs while pushing down with my left middle finger.

It takes a fair amount of pressure (similar to opening a drink can). You want to hear a click and feel it move upward by about 1.5 - 2 millimeters then you can lift off the cover.

This question has been asked and answered many times previously (try searching for "battery"), if you have more questions please try the Q&A search first, the answer is probably here already & it will save your time.

No, this is not an Android phone (it has an OS called Brew MP and there is no app market for it). VMUSA does have a couple of Android models for sale.

It's good. I've had mine since August, it hasn't broken but I also have not dropped it onto concrete (yet). I use a case that clips onto my belt to keep it secure.

Can this phine be used without the Internet plan?
I want this phone for my daughter but without the Internet access, is it possible?

This phone needs a Beyond Talk plan, all of which have unlimited web / messaging / data included. There is no plan without data. However you can disable internet access from the phone using the Parental Controls settings. You choose a secret 4-digit number, the settings can only be changed after the correct number is typed in. Seeing as it's only 4 digits, a determined party could guess the code by brute force but it could take several hours of punching in numbers. To be a super-strict parent, take the phone and change the code once each day.
